Finally setting up GTD with Evernote, successfully (Part 2)

GTD_Trap_9_mind_like_water

Over the past four weeks i have been (finally) setting up Evernote as software system to manage GTD (Getting Things Done). You can read more on my resolution and initial setup in Part one of the Finally setting up GTD, successfully series.

So, i created a bunch of notebooks and i put all items from former GTD-systems (about 5 different systems) in my new and shiny Evernote-inbox. I wanted to process these items during a (recurring) two hour during train ride. However when i opened the Evernote app on my Ipad i quickly found out that you can’t do a lot with the Evernote app when you are not connected to the internet and do not have a premium account.

I sweared a little bit inside and i was set back at the moment. Read more

(New years) Resolution – Finally setting up GTD with Evernote, successfully (Part 1)

new-year-resolution

This is not really a new years resolution but more a personal goal for this year and more specific for the upcoming weeks. Finally setting up GTD, successfully.

First, what is GTD?

Let me explain the abbreviation GTD. GTD stands short for Getting Things Done. This is the book title from the bestseller by David Allen.

Want to know more about GTD? I recommend you to buy the book, check wikipedia or read one of these blogs about the basics of GTD (1, 2, 3, 4). There has been written up so much already about this subject.  This makes me believe i can’t do it any better.

After reading up about GTD you can and should continue with this blog. :)

How to: Synchronize Songbirds database files

Songbird (http://getsongbird.com/) is Mozilla’s own music player. Similar to Firefox it gives you access to a lot of add-ons and feathers (themes) for free.

In the beginning i was struggling to get the same music library for multiple accounts in one windows installation. This music library contains, playlists, ratings, play count, add-ons, etc. The problem with multiple windows account is that they have separate user files.

I found a way to sync this. In the end the solution was very easy (as always..). Read more
